Virtual Law Firm, Authentic Connection
McPhillips Law is a virtual law firm based in Tampa, Florida focused on delivering comprehensive estate planning services through education and empowerment. I build authentic connections with my clients to understand their goals and needs, ensuring they receive clear, meaningful solutions they can confidently implement.
McPhillips Law is founded on the principle that sophisticated legal services should be more accessible to busy professionals, military families, and small businesses. The firm’s mission is Making Things Right For Your Future.
I opened my firm in 2018 while living in Japan - a task that involved tackling tough legal tech implementation issues and working across multiple world time zones. As an entrepreneur, I appreciate the challenges small business owners face. My approach to solving problems for clients - whether in estate planning, tax, business or nonprofit law - is to infuse practical solutions into legal strategy.
As a former BigLaw attorney, I know the importance of going above and beyond to respond to client needs. I have worked on global litigation matters for some of the largest companies and the most demanding C-suite executives. I bring this high-touch level of responsiveness to my own firm, along with legal judgment honed by practicing law for more than two decades. I look forward to making things right for my clients.
Candice McPhillips
Founding Attorney
I launched an estate planning practice in Tampa, Florida to provide clients with well-rounded advice on protecting the individual and business assets they worked so hard to build.
After 14 years as a litigator in global law firms, I earned a Tax Master of Laws (LLM) and shifted my practice to tax, business, and nonprofit law. Now I enjoy educating and advising clients to create a roadmap for their loved ones by drafting customized wills and trusts. I also offer business, tax, and nonprofit legal advice for estate planning clients who need assistance with business formation, business succession planning, estate tax planning, and charitable giving.
Originally from Virginia, I became a military spouse in 2008 and have now lived in several states and in Japan. Thanks to the military lifestyle, I am licensed to practice law in 6 states.
In addition to creating wills and trust for my estate planning clients, I have a passion for educating the next generation of lawyers about the benefits of owning their own firms. I have taught Law Office Management as an Adjunct Professor at Lincoln Memorial University Law School and enjoy mentoring lawyers who are starting virtual law firms. In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my husband, daughter, and golden retriever named Alex.
